The Del McCoury Band
Even among the pantheon of music’s finest artists, Del McCoury stands alone. Now leading the Del McCoury Band, with sons Ronnie and Rob, the ensemble continues to represent a growing musical community. McCoury’s sixth decade in bluegrass bliss brings new triumphs, new collaborations, and new music. With but a single change in membership in twenty-seven years The Del McCoury Band shows unprecedented stability as well as garnering the respect and admiration of the industry for its unmistakable work: nine IBMA Entertainer of the Year trophies; in 2003, Del’s awarded membership in the cast of the legendary Grand Ole Opry; the band’s first Best Bluegrass Album Grammy award, in ’05, followed by a second Grammy win in 2014. A good-natured willingness to stay alert to the latest sounds and opportunities around him earned McCoury a whole new generation of fans, including some in unlikely places.

Backline
Backline is a six-piece band from Spartanburg, SC. The band came together in early February of 2016. The band is made up of Katelyn Ingardia (Guitar and Vocals), Travis Tucker (Dobro and Vocals), Milom Williams II (Mandolin and Vocals), Zachary Carter (Banjo and Vocals), Clint White III (Fiddle), and Chris Williamson (Doghouse Bass). Backline’s choice of material is almost 80% original music written by members in the band or by the band itself, but they also perform traditional covers arranged to fit their personal style. They are all about God, country, faith, family, and bluegrass, and these values shine through in their music. They are thankful for God’s many blessings and the many doors He has opened so far in their journey. Backline’s desire is to share their music through a more modern bluegrass sound with enough traditional flare that it can be enjoyed by a new generation of bluegrass lovers, but also the dedicated bluegrass fans that have kept this great tradition alive.
Sideline
Sideline is a pedigreed six-piece powerhouse whose style has set the pace in Bluegrass for over two decades. Founders Steve Dilling, Skip Cherryholmes and Jason Moore can all claim their own historical significance to the genre as members of highly-awarded groups, multiple Grand Ole Opry appearances, and years of national and international touring. What started as a side project for the seasoned players soon moved to the front and center as the three were joined by talents of Bailey Coe; guitar, Zack Arnold; mandolin, and Jamie Harper; fiddle, and began to record and release albums in earnest. To listen to Sideline reminds the fan of why so many people fall in love with Bluegrass in the first place; pulse-pounding drive, songs are sung from the heart, perfected timing and dynamics as well as a visceral emotion in the rendering. A band that was started as an off-season fun experiment has become a full-time dream team of players and singers. The band, recorded or live, move dynamically from well-chosen, hard-hitting neo-traditional covers of classic songs to new material curated by a band with a perfect sense of who they are and what they have to say. Combine all this with their on-stage energy and finesse as well as their powerful and affecting harmonies, and you have the embodiment of the North Carolina Bluegrass sound. Sideline has released 3 national projects and currently records for the highly awarded Mountain Home Music Company based near Asheville, NC.
The Grascals
Great musicians will always find a way to make good music, but for great musicians to make great music, they must form a bond – one that, more often than not, goes beyond the purely musical to the personal. For The Grascals, that bond has been forged at the intersection of personal friendships, shared professional resumes, and an appreciation for the innovative mingling of bluegrass and country music that has been a hallmark of the Nashville scene for more than forty years. Their cutting-edge modern bluegrass is delivered with a deep knowledge of, and admiration for, the work of the music’s founding fathers. Timely yet timeless, The Grascals make music that is entirely relevant to the here and now yet immersed in traditional values of soul and musicianship. It’s a unique sound that has earned three Grammy® nominations and two Entertainer of the Year awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association, as well as national media attention that seems to perpetually elude acts entrenched in niche genres. Such appearances include The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Fox & Friends, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and CBS’ The Talk. All the while, stages that represent the strongest bastions of tradition continually welcome them, as evidenced by the over 200 performances on the Grand Ole Opry. Honors also include performing twice for President George W. Bush and at President Barack Obama’s inaugural ball at the Smithsonian.
