Myrtle Beach Campground Celebrates Leap Year With The Theme, “What Are You Going to Do with Your Extra Day this Year?” |
January 31, 2012, Myrtle Beach, S.C ”To commemorate the 2012 leap year, Ocean Lakes Family Campground is hosting a yearlong celebration called “Leap Into Fun.” Ocean Lakes teammates will recognize unofficial holidays that have fun themes and provide activities in park and online to campground guests. Leap Into Fun kicks off Wednesday, Feb. 1.
Every month, Leap Into Fun will encompass several unique holidays or commemorative days that relate to various aspects of Ocean Lakes’ amenities, activities and culture. The award-winning campground will include the wacky celebrations on its activities calendars and online through its website, Facebook page, Twitter account and blog. Special days that Ocean Lakes plans to celebrate in February include “Ice Cream for Breakfast Day” (Feb. 4) and “Love Your Pet Day” (Feb. 20). Ice cream is a tradition at this large oceanfront campground, so Sandy’s Eat n’ Meet, the campground’s eatery, will serve ice cream alongside its breakfast menu. For National Love Your Pet Day, guests will be able to stop by the Ocean Lakes offices and pick up a red ribbon and treats for their animal friends that day. Pets are an important part of every family and one of the reasons that guests choose to camp at Ocean Lakes is that they can bring their pets along. “When we realized that 2012 was leap year and that we will have an extra day, our teammates decided that they wanted to come up with fun ways our guests can spend that extra day,” said Barb Krumm, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Ocean Lakes Family Campground. “We have the best guests in the world! They love to have fun and we love to give them opportunities like Leap Into Fun.” A list of the Leap Into Fun events that are scheduled so far is available at www.oceanlakes.com.
